Conamar Tune up for Garsington Opera

Conamar has secured the contract for a major new arts and rehearsal building for Garsington Opera,  based at Wormsley, a beautiful family Estate, in rural Buckinghamshire.

The £11m building is now undergoing the next stage of design development and procurement of key sub-contractors, with works due to commence on site in June.

The Arts and Performance venue is a new build, set within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, replacing disused agricultural buildings. The new buildings make use of the materials that are typical of the Chilterns vernacular – brick and flint walls, dark stained weatherboarding and plain clay roof tiles – alongside a green roof, to ensure that the performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, wardrobe workshops and catering areas blend into the environment whilst providing fully functional modern facilities.
