The renovation of the historic Heals Store on Tottenham Court Road, London, has converted the site into a mixed-use complex with 140,000 square feet of office space and new retail areas for Heal’s. The project included the restoration of original architectural features and structural modifications, alongside modern upgrades like new ventilation systems to reduce carbon emissions.
Procured via a design and build partnering arrangement, the John Lewis Peterborough store development involved the fit out of the previous shell and core works and complex structural alterations, as well as a refresh of the existing store. As part of the project we also delivered refurbishments to the mall entrance of the overall shopping centre, and decorations to the escalator bodies.
We were appointed as the main contractor on this design and build project to construct a state of the art manufacturing facility near Bolton in Lancashire. The new 150,000 sq ft building, which incorporates high levels of insulation and achieved BREEAM Very Good, is located on the site of a former open cast coal mine on Haworth Estates’ new £200m Logistics North development.
The works comprise both external and internal refurbishment of the existing Victoria Arcade, comprising strip-out of the existing tenant fixtures and fittings; capping off incoming services; new electrical and water supplies; repair and redecoration works to the external facades and arcade thoroughfare.
Premier Inn Conversion & Extension, Tunbridge Wells
This project comprised of the conversion and extension of a former Ministry of Justice building to form a 110 bedroom Premier Inn together with external works and drainage. We were surrounded by several neighbours in close proximity, including offices, residential and highways. We liaised with them throughout the contract, ensuring disruption was kept to a minimum.
This project is an excellent example of our ability to deliver an accelerated programme of works to meet a client’s requirements. To meet the client’s funding conditions, we accelerated the pre-construction period, undertaking design development, pricing and mobilisation in just 4 weeks and an 18 week programme to meet a 9 week period. We achieved this using a direct award procurement through one of our framework agreements, and working 24/7 on site.
