Dean: From Site Manager to Contracts Manager at Conamar

In celebration of Dean’s progression at Conamar, we highlight his ascent from Site Manager to Contracts Manager, a role he has excelled in for the past year. Beginning his journey at Conamar managing various projects as a Site Manager, Dean’s leadership skills and commitment to excellence paved the way for his current position. Now, he orchestrates project meetings, coordinates with contractors, and ensures that every project is completed on time and within budget, emphasising quality and precision.

Luke: Charting a New Course in Quantity Surveying

Introducing Luke, our Assistant Buyer who joined Conamar in September 2023. Luke’s journey in construction began with work experience in architecture following his GCSEs. He then moved into the real estate sector, gaining valuable expertise in sales and lettings over two years. At Conamar, Luke leverages his sharp analytical abilities and deep market knowledge in his procurement role. Preparing ambitiously for the future, Luke will start a Quantity Surveying course this September, attending university one day a week. His dedication marks a significant stride in his career path and enriches Conamar’s expertise in the construction industry.

Naire: Innovating Pre-Construction Processes

Since joining Conamar in 2021, Naire has leveraged her BA in GPIR-Business Management and a qualification as a BREEAM Associate to revolutionize our pre-construction and supply chain processes. Her role is pivotal in enhancing subcontractor relationships and streamlining our tendering process through innovative tools like AI software. Naire’s journey from an administrative assistant to a key coordinator illustrates her dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in construction.

Lisa: Mastering Quantity Surveying with a Dynamic Approach

Lisa, who joined Conamar in January 2022 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, has quickly become essential in managing the financial aspects of her projects. Her journey started in 2008 as a trainee, and through an apprenticeship scheme, she earned her BSc Hons while contributing significantly to projects up to £30m. Lisa’s enthusiasm for her on-site role and her ability to manage diverse teams exemplify her leadership and commitment to the construction industry’s evolving landscape.

Tash: Championing Sustainability and Social Value

Tash’s career at Conamar evolved remarkably from an Accounts Assistant in 2017 to becoming our Social Value and Sustainability Champion. A passionate advocate for mental health and environmental responsibility, Tash embodies resilience and adaptability, balancing motherhood while pioneering significant change within the construction industry. Her role underscores the transformative potential of dedicated individuals in driving forward our commitments to sustainability and social value.

Rachael: Pioneering New Paths in Bid Writing

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, we’re championing Rachael, our Senior Bid Writer who joined Conamar in 2019. Starting her career in 2008 as a marketing assistant, Rachael’s passion for construction led her to specialise in Bid Writing. With her APMP qualifications and a BSc in Construction Project Management, Rachael’s dedication to excellence and mentorship has significantly enhanced the quality of our tenders and strengthened our team’s capabilities.

Sam’s Apprenticeship Journey: A Future in Quantity Surveying

Shining a spotlight on Sam’s transition from a keen geology student to a promising apprentice in Quantity Surveying at Conamar. Sam’s passion for the construction industry began with his studies and was further nurtured at Nottingham Trent University. His journey at Conamar started in June 2023, where he has already proven himself on various projects, demonstrating not just skill but a genuine love for the field. His goal is to achieve RICS chartership and lead major projects, contributing significantly to our industry.
