Conamar has begun work on a scheme for Shaftesbury Covent Garden Limited to transform office units in the heart of Covent Garden in London’s West End into sought-after residential apartments.
Construction on the scheme at 39 Floral Street will see office units converted and an extra floor added, to create three new apartments. The project is due for completion in October 2011.
As the scheme is located in a conservation area of Covent Garden, it will show sensitivity to its surroundings near Theatreland. The job involves numerous challenges, including design and access issues that have had to be resolved.
The project team includes Trident, which is providing project management with whom Conamar has a successful track record on previous projects.
Gary Madgin of Conamar said: “We have overcome the challenges of this complex job through an excellent working relationship with Trident and Shaftesbury Covent Garden Limited.”
