Energy Institute, London

The listed, central London building was occupied throughout the refurbishment, and so careful planning was required prior to the project start. The project was completed in two phases, first the 1950’s building was completely refurbished, and then on handover we took the listed area over, which was also carefully refurbished.

The central London confined site gave its own logistic challenges, with access and egress being timed to mitigate any inconvenience to the users of the building and the neighbours. Materials storage was also very limited, so we operated a call off system to avoid the need for on- site storage.
