This multi-million pound refurbishment of MBDA’s two 80,729 sq ft (7,500 sq m) buildings was part of a wider £80 million redevelopment and refurbishment of the defence company’s Stevenage campus.

Having worked with MBDA for more than 20 years, we were tasked with bringing the office accommodation up to the same standard as the rest of the site through a design and build contract, using our fit-out and refurbishment expertise to improve the interiors of the building, to rationalise the space and upgrade the working conditions for the staff.

The project was delivered in a live working environment with works taking place in phases, so accurate scheduling was fundamental. Each floor of the building was refurbished consecutively and staff were moved to new locations as the work was completed.

As a result of our works, MBDA was able to house a further 170 staff in the building, and it became more than 20% more energy efficient.
