Stevenage Firm Supports Mental Health Charity in Four-Day Cycle Ride to Germany

John O’Donnell, a Contracts Director at family-owned Stevenage building contractor Conamar, was one of a team of 26 riders, made up of John Lewis partners and members of other businesses working for the Partnership, to have completed a 340 mile sponsored cycling challenge from Victoria to Düsseldorf, helping to raise £15,000 for SANE – a leading mental health charity.

The four-day challenge started from John Lewis’s headquarters in Victoria, London on Wednesday 5 September and was completed on Saturday 9 September in the centre of Düsseldorf, Germany, passing through, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany on the way.

John O’Donnell, Contracts Director at Conamar, said: “We have a longstanding relationship with John Lewis, having worked with the retailer for over 20 years, and it’s been a privilege to be able to support such a worthy charity alongside a team of truly fantastic people.”

SANE is John Lewis’s Corporate Partners chosen charity for 2012-2013. This relationship will see partners involved in employee fundraising to help raise money for mental health, and initiatives to increase understanding of mental health.
