Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Conamar to build a new £800,000 mental health facility in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire.
Warren Court is a medium secure service for people who have difficulty in learning, including those who need care and treatment in a safe and secure environment.
The new 2,239 sq ft (208 sq m), two storey building will replace the existing one storey reception area. It will comprise a new reception, DDA-compliant facilities and a new kitchen on the ground floor, with new offices, meeting rooms and welfare facilities for the in-house staff above.
In addition to the construction work, Conamar will be ensuring that all the key services, such as panic and security alarms from the existing structure are isolated and remain live to feed into the rest of the complex while the development is underway, and integrate it back into the new building when development is complete.
Neil Dower, Managing Director of Conamar said: “The new mental health facility will offer patients and staff a much better quality of care and working in a high quality, modern environment. As a local company we’re really pleased to have been selected to carry out the work for the NHS.”
Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) provides specialist services for mental health, social care and learning disabilities and works with other organisations to promote and support mental health in the community.
The project is expected to be completed in August 2010.
